"I really dig that your games are made in America. I dig that your 'Carl Sagan was a pothead' tidbit reminded my roommate that astronomy is awesome, even though her professor is doing his best to squelch all the fun out of it. I dig that you're a bunch of hippies, making smart things for smart people, and smart things for everybody else, too, because there's always potential for change. So maybe this is more of a love letter than a marketing survey, but this is what you get. Keep up the good work!" --Marina Y, comments with Order #87900

Have a Larry Christmas!

Happy Holidays everybody! As you might imagine we're just super extra busy right now, dealing with all the extra sales that have been coming in as folks do their Christmas shopping in our webstore (not to mention finding spare time to do such shopping ourselves). But at least we've already gotten our holiday cards mailed out! Here's the newest card, which I hinted about in my last update: it's Larry the Zombie! He's on the cover of Zombie Fluxx, but not on any of the cards inside. But now you can add Larry to your horde!

Larry does the same trick as the Radioactive Potato - you can't win if you have him, but he moves anytime the Goal changes. But unlike the Potato, he also counts as a Zombie, so you can get rid of him any time you can kill a Zombie. Of course, that won't be very often if you put Larry into a non-Zombie Fluxx deck, in which case you should also add a Destroy a Creeper action from the Party Pack, without which you'll never be able to get rid of Larry for good once he shows up!

If you didn't get one of these postcards, then you aren't in our database, but that's OK you can still get one -- leftovers are available while supplies last in our online store! Also, be sure to sign up for our Fan Club so you'll get in on whatever we mail out next!

Well that's all I've got time for right now... have a great holiday!

Andy

PS: if you still want something from our webstore in time for Christmas, we need your order in our system by Sunday the 16th (or a little later if you want to pay for expedited shipping).

Thought Residue
As a big fan of His Dark Materials, I was excited and nervous about seeing this trilogy turned into movies. So we went right out and saw The Golden Compass during opening week, and overall I was very pleased with it. I hope they do as good a job on the other two books!

For as long as I can remember, sales tax in Maryland has been an easy to calculate 5%. But alas, next month it's going up to 6%!
"I remember. I covered the Vietnam War. I remember the lies that were told, the lives that were lost - and the shock when, twenty years after the war ended, former Defense Secretary Robert S. McNamara admitted he knew it was a mistake all along. Today, our nation is fighting two wars: one abroad and one at home. While the war in Iraq is in the headlines, the other war is still being fought on our own streets. Its casualties are the wasted lives of our own citizens. I am speaking of the war on drugs. And I cannot help but wonder how many more lives, and how much more money, will be wasted before another Robert McNamara admits what is plain for all to see: the war on drugs is a failure." -- Walter Cronkite, "Why I Support DPA, and So Should You"
