Seijin no Hi: Coming of age day, traditionally
January 15, the date I'd planned on being in town, since the
21-year-old girls all wear the best kimono, trimmed in fur.
But a couple years ago they moved the day to make it a
three-day weekend, now it's "Happy Monday" which happened
to be the day I got back from Singapore, so I got to see a
bit of that classic dress. After a ceremony they all head out
to party -- the guys just wear suits.
