I got this recipe from a little booklet that was included in Family
Circle or one of them magazines many years ago as an ad for the M&M/Mars
company. It was a little 16 page book with a reicpe on each page for all
sorts of desserts you could cook with their candy, including this one (the
only one I ever actually tried) and Chocolate Treasure Puffs, made with
crescent rolls and 3 Musketeers bars, which I'm going to try soon now that
I've pulled that tattered recipe book out of my files. Look here for a report
in the future.
Stuff you need:
Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy in a small deep bowl. Gradually beat in sugar to make a stiff meringue. Fold in plain "M&M's". Grease and flour a large cookie sheet. Drop meringue mixture by teaspoonfuls onto the cookie sheet. Garnish each with a plain "M&M". Bake in a low oven (250 degrees) for 30 minutes, or until cookies are firm to the touch, but still white. Makes 2 dozen
