VILLANELLE O' THE POET ROGUE
Gang away wi' thee,
love, (whan we maun, we fly)
but come again wi' me
to braid yon shade o' tree
'or we kiss guidbye.
Gang away wi' thee,
love, frae the thrill that we
ken whan e're we lie.
But come again wi' me,
and fain, for gin we're free
today, love, syne shad I
gang away wi' thee?
Gin ye move, dinna flee,
erst move wi' me, love. Fly,
but come again wi' me.
Come wi' sweating sea,
writhing hooly under sky.
Gang away wi' thee,
but come again wi' me.
