of the rest of the body electric
this is now known: everything
the color of hair and eyes
the strength of bone
everything and more is bound
within our genetic stew
nothing is wasted
in dna's molecular glue
the information goes
just beyond the material zone
we found original sin
it took decades to undo
we fiddled with free will as well
finally from the few untwisted remains
of this altered code
we made a clone
of the rest of the body
the large glass womb inside this room
contains our prize:
a new type of being
an almost-human of another hue.
it is difficult to measure
how the fetus has grown
due to brightness which is emanating
from it alone
(in addition
the creature's folded wings
obstruct our view
of the rest of the body)
