happy early anniversary, twice!
G: I played
hold'em at Wunderland Thursday night and got myself a big stack that I
lost part of on the last hand. I still came out ahead - it's fun
when I come out ahead, but I still felt the sting of the last loss. I
don't know if I really like that rollercoaster ride.

On Friday Amethyst
and I went to Party City and then to TVTom's to decorate it for the
party that night. We put up streamers and balloons. At the party we
were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversaries— Dorian and Amethyst's
and Ginohn's. I took an eggplant dish I got from Costco and mixed it
with ratatouille that I made and served it with bread and chips— it was
a big hit. I had a great time—hanging out chatting—Dan Hart and his
wife Ann came and there was a bit of singing - Dorian made frozen
drinks and I had a couple—I walked around in my wedding dress and John
put on a top hat, his tux shirt and a bow tie—and we watched our
wedding video, about which Ann said that was the first wedding video
she had ever seen that she wanted a copy of. Then Dorian and Amethyst
read a copy of a very funny and silly ceremony that their friends put
on for them a few days after they were married at the courthouse.
The next day John and I went back to get stuff we'd left. We helped
clean up a little and breathed in a few helium balloons for the voice
effects. A little later we went to Dave and Diane's pool party. Dave
stood over a hot grill most of the day, while the rest of us stood in
the shade or went swimming. We saw lots of friends and some family. In
fact, there were many more people at that party that had actually been
at our wedding than at the anniversary party the night before.
Koralleen, who has recently moved to Columbus OH, was there (with
Brian, Victoria, and two nieces). It was good to see her. We had to go
home to walk and feed Katy, so then we brought her back to the party.
She ran around like crazy with D&D's beagle Suka. They were so cute!
On Sunday I went to Artful Afternoon for most of the afternoon. That
night Izolda had us over for sushi as a thank you to me for taking her
to Rockville to get her car from the shop. Renee and Alex came,
recently back from their trip to CA for Comic-Con and vacationing. So
we talked mainly about that, and looked at their pictures. Nice evening.
