stu stu studio
G: We took
Stacy out for dinner a couple of weeks late for her birthday. Her
housemate Ash came along. We went to the
Cheesecake
Factory and had a great time.
This weekend I was in my new studio space, starting to set it up. This
comprised mostly of helping two of the other artists that I'm sharing
the room with in rearranging and expanding into more of the room, since
I didn't have anything to put in there yet at that point, and they are
leasing the other half of the space (I'm leasing one half of one space
which is 1/3 of a room). Now I have a borrowed
wheel, a
table, some shelving space, and a little craft storage cart I bought.
I've moved most of the stuff from my jam packed shelf in the community
studio into the room and spread out on a shelf. I still haven't gotten
it all set up yet, but I'm hoping to be able to start working in there
very soon.
We may be on the brink of getting a dog. A little one. John, Lori and I
are meeting a couple of cuties tonight. If I don't fall in love we will
keep looking. I'm a bit apprehensive about it - I'm afraid I'll get too
excited and make poor choices. I've also been reading the book by
Cesar Milan, the
Dog Whisperer, and it's teaching me many things about how one should
behave with a dog that goes against my (and many people's) tendencies.
For instance, when we go to the foster mom's house, we have to walk in
and ignore the dog. We probably need to take him for a walk him without
any fanfare, and then we can give affection. I have to stifle my desire
to be all goo-goo and wvoogie-wvoogie!
After a holiday hiatus, my classes at the Greenbelt Community Center
started up this week. So things are really getting busy.
