G: On Sunday Izolda had her
tea party here at Chez Ginohn. She brought her fondue maker and foot
spa. Kendall came with chips and salsa, and Kristin M. showed up with
an organic pineapple and trail mix. We started in to eating and some of
us even had tea. Then Petra showed up with her henna tattoo materials.
I was the first to get tattooed on my feet, and Petra did an amazing
job on everyone. Others did foot baths and pedicures. There were even
some temporary tattoos of mermaids and those little decals for your
nails I remember using when I was a young teen.
We had a great girly night. It's funny how the older I get the more
interested I am in dolling up a bit. I guess when I was younger
everything fell into place alright and I didn't think about extra
things to try to make myself attractive. Now that it's harder to wake
up in the morning fresh as a daisy, I'm more interested in getting my
hair done, putting on makeup sometimes, and these other decorative
things. But mostly they are just for fun.
I don't know how much fun it will be, but today I bought an old desk
and chair, to strip and paint pretty girly colors, so I can store all
my girly stuff. Jewelry and makeup and maybe some of my beading
stuff.
J: I actually ran in this year's Spring Fun Run,
and
finished too! I didn't run it quickly, but I didn't stop or walk, so
that's good. Gina gave me the running bug again (she's running). Gotta
get out of the winter wallows, gain some endurance and lose some weight.
While Gina and Lori were playing with henna, I hunkered down in my
cave room where I drank beer and played lots of play-money poker with
Rich. Lotsa fun!
Forgot to mention that this month's hero is Kurt Gödel, madcap metamathematician. Kurt discovered some nifty things about math and the universe of logic. He also found a loophole in the US Constitution that would allow the Government to evolve into a dictatorship. The twisted tactic may have involved the President's ability to make appointments while congress was in recess. If I were less paranoid than Gödel I might conclude that the current administration is working hard on making his loophole a reality.
