G: Lessee, one night I went over to Rizolda's to watch a movie and pet their cats while they were away. As I was getting settled in for the movie, I got a big mug of water and set it down on a chair. Next thing I know Pyro is drinking out of it. So I go pour that water into their bowl, and fill my mug again. I set it down on the chair and next thing I know Kimba is drinking out of it. So I dumped that water into their bowl and made darn sure no cats got near my next mug. And I watched "The Truth about Cats and Dogs."
Lori rolled up a million roses on We Love Katamari! We recorded it
for posterity.
This weekend John helped his uncle John move into a nice apartment. Lots of siblings and their kin helped out, too. Meanwhile I glazed a bunch of bowls for the upcoming Empty Bowls charity dinner in Greenbelt.
Tuesday I drove to Rockville to meet up with Noelle and Luisa at Noelle's hairdresser's salon to get our hairs worked on. I was supposed to be a little late but my timing was just about right and Luisa and Noelle got there a little later when I was in the middle of getting my hair put in tin foil with chemicals to make it pretty. Noelle is good friends with her hairdresser, Wendy, and she was doing after hours work on us for about half the price that the salon would charge - and they would charge A LOT.
We all chatted and had a good time, my hair magically changed colors in the tin foil while Luisa got a fantastic haircut. Then the shampoo and conditioning, then my hair cut. Noelle just got her fringe trimmed.
I was and am very pleased with my new do - it's unlike any cut I've had, except maybe as a kid in the seventies, but that surely couldn't compare to this very pro job.
Thank you, thank you, again, Wendy!
Then Noelle had some waxing done, then Wendy offered the same to Luisa and I so we did too. See if you can guess where!
We were there until 10pm (I had arrived around 6:30) but we were having a great time the whole time, talking crazy girl talk. So then we went to Dave and Busters and had a late dinner and some people had drinks and we got to know Wendy a little better. It was a great time and I didn't get home until after midnight.
Sad news this week: Ann, a fellow Greenbelter died this week, apparently by suicide. Just last month she was at our house, singing to Dorian's puppy Tevya.
I think copyright laws are going the way of the dinosaurs. They're
getting big and toothy, and soon they will grow to ungainly sizes and
become unable to adapt to their rapidly changing technological
environment, where newer species of information make copies of
themselves... for free! Within decades, some paradigm shift will
occur-- I don't know what form it will take, but it is approaching. The
last of the
copyright dinosaurs will wreak havoc for a few more years, and then
they will disappear, leaving behind curious petrified fossils in the
strata of bureaucracy.
