J: Gina and I
went to see Dan Hart sing again,
at the Nude Eel. He sang lots of
his special Xmash hits, including Lobotomy for Christmas, Misanthropic
Christmas, and one I hadn't heard, sung to the tired old "Grandma got
run over..." song. It started out with a whole nursing home getting
trampled by a large herd of reindeer, and only got better as it went
along. He also got Gina to sing a cover of Brains of Santa Claus with
him onstage! They sounded great together. Dan isn't appreciated enough,
I think. His lyrics have excellent timing, and his guitar playing is
impressive. Give him a listen sometime, won't you?
On Sunday I volunteered for a last minute acting job, in a movie Mike
McMullen is filming. It's the same movie Gina and Luisa star in. Chris
Welsh and I played cops. It was really tough; I had a small bout with
stage fright, and I kept messing up my lines. I also had to hold and
smoke a cigarette, bleah. We finished the job though, after many takes.
