Shroomberries

Highlights of the week:
- Too
much PS2 and Poker. We're a bunch of game nerds.
- Saturday,
Ginohn went shroom hunting. Didn't find much, but,
- we
ended up at an impromptu party at DnA's. Watched Reno 911. Funnnnny!
- Sunday
I helped Dave and his mom work on cleaning out their old garage. After
hours of hard labor I was too stiff and sore to meet Gina and Lori at
- Skindsey's
party, where Gina had so much fun she almost didn't come home. When she
did come home, she found me
- playing
poker with the boys (Andy, Kory, and Dave) Kory's been recuperating
from surgery and wanted to get out of the house but didn't want to go
far, so we played poker.
- We
found several pounds of shiitake mushrooms on our logs, and have been
eating shrooms for lunch and dinner.
- Rich
tipped me off to some shroomberries (small woods puffballs) in our
woods. I picked a bagful.
- I
finally (on my fifth game) got past the bubble in an online poker
ten-player tournament. Came in third and netted $4.50! I know, it ain't
much but it was a thrill to get into the winners' circle.
- I've
actually been working on poetry lately, and playing poetry games with
my dad.
G: John bought me
a Play Station
2 for his birthday. I bought the latest Dance Dance Revolution Game
(with dance pad) and the new Calamari Dumbnazi called "We Love
Calamari." The next day I got the memory card and two used games, Crazy
Taxi and a snowboarding game because we'd played Crazy Taxi and some
snowboarding game when we visited Jon Kruger in Seattle many years ago.
The snowboarding game is from ESPN, but it didn't have the manual so I
only tried it once. Seems you need two players for most of the things
you can do there, and we only have the one controller that came with
the game, and the dance pad doesn't work very well with it.
Lori went out on her lunch break the next day and bought The Simpson's
Hit and Run. It's a lot of fun and she's really addicted to it and the
Dumbnazi. She comes home from work and plays for hours until she goes
to bed!
