Road Trips Galore

J: Thursday - Before going to the Looneys' game night I logged over 26 miles on my bicycle, riding to work and then to Franklin's brew pub with a bunch of Geezers. Gina and I ate salads at Franklin's (and ale) and when we came home we ate fresh corn that my brother Bill gave to us.

More. We need more corn, Bill.

Friday - Gina went to a Weird Al show in York PA with a bunch of friends, while Kory and I sat outside of the New Deal Café and made trouble with Kerry. Kerry wore a fabric wig that made her look like a barrister, and I got her to put a pillow under her shirt to look preggers while she drank her wine and smoked a cigarette. Cute.

Saturday - Gina and I took a trip to Atlantic City to see yet another Weird Al show, which was fantastic by the way. The drive took five hours instead of MapQuest's estimated three. Bleh.

When we got to the hotel casino (Trump Marina) that Al was playing at, we eventually ran into Ruben (the keyboardist) at the bar, and chatted for a while. After he told me that Al's manager's kids call Bermuda
(the band's drummer and webmaster) "Uncle Money" because he hands them dollar bills, I quickly responded, "Oh, so they call him Money for Schwartz?" Weird Al fans will notice the multilevel humor in that line, I hope. I was pretty darned proud of myself.

After the show we played pool with Al. Gina was on Al's team and I had Jackie, a friend of Al's wardrobe handler Rachel, for one game and a casino guy—who looked and sounded like a mobster, but in a good way—named Robert for the next match. The games were very close, but Gina and Al won them both. Cheaters.

Al showed me pictures of his baby, who wreaks of cuteness, and Gina showed him lots of pictures she had taken at the concert.

Sunday  - Gina and I stayed in Atlantic City for the night and took a shuttle bus down to the boardwalk the next day to wander around and stare at stuff. Atlantic City is very alien to us both, because the whole place is obsessed with gambling, and we aren't. We did play a little ouija gambling, by linking fingers and letting the "spirits" guide us around the room, pointing out which machines to play. Didn't help, we lost ten bucks to Mr Trump. But we managed to even the score by taking advantage of a lot of free stuff, too.

Monday - Gina's birthday anniversary! We drove with Stacy and Chrissy down to Busch Gardens for a day of Roller Coasters. Woo Hoo! Walking into the park, Chrissy told us she was scared of some of the coasters. We informed her that we had successfully broken several people of that fear, and that we would break her, too. She adamantly denied that she could be broken, but by the end of the day she admitted we had indeed broken her, and that she would never be fixed again.

Unfortunat
ely I ran out of steam about an hour before we actually left the park, and then had to drive most of the way back. Next year I'm taking two days off of work— one for coastering, the other for recovery.

Tuesday - Moon Day! On this day in 1969 a real painful excuse for a palindrome waited to be discovered:

Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin (men) met Emnem Nirdlaz Zubdna Gnortsmr (alien).

I tried to work, at NASA even, but I remained spaced-out from the weekend.

Wednesday - Sister Meg just had a baby today! Welcome to the world, Karl Samuel Naab!
