Fun, Fun, Fun

J:  Not much time to write, sorry. This week I saw some long-ago friends at Thof's birthday party, including Sue Hayden and Steve Ericson, who runs this online used pulp bookstore called Books from the Crypt. On Monday Gina and I joined other familia at BWI airport to welcome my brother Frank back from Iraq. After he took his through-flight home, we went with Meg, Joe, and our unklings Billy and Leo to The Nile Cafe at Fell's Point. We ate extremely delicious and fairly expensive food. And I had Belgian beer! Other than that I've been fixing our car (replaced the distributor and learned that cars should have a liquid called "coolant") and setting up our Xmash present, a home theater sound system.

G: On Thursday, I finally cashed in on the gift certificate I had won at Izolda's CD release party last July. I went to Pleasant Touch to get a 1/2 hour massage, and a free facial from our friend Susan Stern who works there and is learning how to do facials. The massage was wonderful, I wish it had been longer. The facial was nice too, I felt so pampered. I ended up buying some stuff to use on my face, and I've been pleased so far with the way my skin is feeling silky smooth.

Luisa
came with us to dinner at Noodles and Co. and Wunderland that evening. After hanging around chatting for a while a whole bunch of people played Kory's party game. We played 3 1/2 rounds so we played for a long time. It was fun.

On Friday night we went to dinner at Udupi Palace with Kory, Shaun, and Mi Ae. Then we went to see Love Actually at the Greenbelt Theater. It was fun.

On Saturday Jenny came over and we went to a housewarming/holiday/birthday party at Thofer and Anne's. It was a very nice party. We all pigged out on guacamole. Jenny and I ended up reading trivia questions to each other from Cranium. We came back home and hung around doing nothing until she left, then we watched SNL which we haven't done in a long time. Chris Kattan made an appearance as Gollum. It was fun.

Sunday John cooked up the collection of oyster mushrooms we had in the fridge. There were 4 different bags of various amounts that we gathered from the wild. He oiled the bottom of the skillet, filled it with the mushrooms and eggplant, added old bay seasoning and powdered vegetable base, and roasted it for 40 minutes. My goodness, it was delicious. Some bites tasted like chicken!

Then we were off to the movies again, to see Elf with Kory, Luisa, and Alfredo. Afterward we went to Plato's diner. When we pulled up, we saw Andy and Alison inside sitting by the window. We sneaked up to the window and stared in at them. I think we gave Andy a bit of a surprise. I just saw Alison laughing.  It was fun.

Gosh we have a lot of fun.
