Houses
and Gardens
J: Don't wanna write. Here, have some
bullets:
- Our First Friday party
grew crowded this week.
- So crowded I didn't have
time to talk to anyone for more than two seconds.
- So I didn't really see
anyone at our party.
- But Gina's fire pit
worked a treat!
- And Gary Bumbalough built
us a really nice fence.
- Kory gave me a first
edition box of Zendo, it looks great.
- My oldest unkling Erin
threw a nice big high school graduation party. Congratulations Erin!
- We went on the annual
Greenbelt house and garden tour. Got to snoop through houses.
- I've been playing a very
frustrating, aggressive game called Carolus
Magnus with Kory.
- Carolus Magnus hurts my brain.
G: I love going on the house
and garden tour of Greenbelt! You go around to the participating homes
and gardens, and get to look around. The homeowners are showing off
their additions, remodeling, or gardening, and it's always really neat
and a lot of fun.
After the tour, I went down to the town Center to help out with the
pottery sale. It was supposed to be Saturday, but was postponed because
of the downpour. There were lots of people around and Izolda was just
starting up the performance by her singing students. Sales were pretty
good, then John came down and helped me and Mark Gitlis and Karen
Morgestern pack up all the leftover pots to take them back to the studio.
Later still, we went to dinner with Jenny and Kory at a new place in
town, The Atlanta Bread Company
Bakery and Cafe. They have those soup-in-a-round-loaf-of-sourdough-bread
things, and we all probably would have gotten avocado sammitches, but
they were out of avocados, so we had to settle for the vegetarian soup
of the day which was tomato-dill-fennel. Turns out it was really
tomato-salt-salt. Jenny got side soup and side salad, and the soup
tasted even saltier without the bread. We plan on trying again sometime
when they have a kind of soup we think we'd like more - they have veggie
chili on Thursdays.
Then Jenny and I picked up Luisa and went to dance night. Joe and Meg
and kids showed up too and I danced with Billy a few times and he seemed
to really enjoy it. Meg brought him at my prompting after telling
me about how much Billy loved doing the Grand March at a wedding
recently.
