Still Even More Snow
G:
Friday night a few people came over to play games - Kory, Jake, and Liam.
I sat out on games and read dOOce all
night.
Saturday
I ran around a lot - first to a lecture by our friend Ronda's father about
being who you are meant to be, then to a musical put on by local kids -
and also starring, written and produced by Chris Cherry, a recreation director
at the community center.
Later
we braved the yucky weather to drive out and meet our friend Gary Kaplan
in Rockville to see a movie and eat a dinner, in that order. But we reversed
the order because the movie theater had succumbed to an electrical failure
due to flooding. Luckily the snow didn't cause the roof to collapse as
it had in other large buildings around the area. We ate at the Tara Thai
restaurant, a posh looking place which actually has nice prices. Gary had
claimed they had the best vegetarian pad thai he'd ever had, so John ordered
it and so did I, 'cept mine was made with vermicelli, tiny bean thread
noodles. Gary ordered Chow Foon, and we all shared. It was very good, I
liked the vermicelli one best, but it still didn't live up to the first
time I ever had veggie pad thai (somewhere in the city with Rich and Izolda).
Then we went to the movie.
That
night we went to a party at Gary (Bumbalough) and Ellen's apartment. They
are both moving into townhouses in town with other friends, so it was an
apartment bashing party. At least two wine bottles and one small window
pane were bashed, accidentally of course.
Sunday
we went to East Euro Trade (where we've bought all of our furniture since
we moved) and got a new computer desk and matching shelf. We took a break
from setting it up to go over to the Big House, soon to have a new name,
to help with moving in Renee and Alex's stuff. |
