Fluxx

Title:
Time Vortex

Occasion:
Rabbit Promo 2000

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
We made these when we first launched our Mad Lab Rabbits program. The idea was to give rabbits a stack of these, in an official Carrot box, to then give away to other Looney fans they meet. (It was also a way of celebrating the release of new game Chrononauts.)

Title:
Borders Bonus

Occasion:
Getting into Borders, 2002

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
We created this card to celebrate that Borders Books started carrying Fluxx. In case you can't read the fine print, it says "If you are playing Fluxx in a public place (such as the Borders Books Cafe) and a stranger inquires about the game, all players draw a card."

When this card works as described, it's a real hoot!

Title:
The Star

Comments:
In case you can't read the fine print, the way this works is that it counts as either the Sun or the Moon.

Title:
Pine Tree

Occasion:
Origins 2006

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
To celebrate the release of our newest game Treehouse, the theme in 2006 was Trees! The Trees are great fun because there are lots of ways to play with them. The basic way is to put the 3 Trees plus the Forest into any regular Fluxx deck, but the Trees also work with EcoFluxx and Family Fluxx, both of which sport Trees of their own, making even bigger Forests possible. (Notice that the art on the Forest features not just the Pine, Fruit, and Palm Trees, but also the Trees from EcoFluxx and The Tree from Family Fluxx.) And while it doesn't say so explicitly on the cards, the new Trees count as the other Trees when mixing the Trees and Forest in with Eco & Family Fluxx.

Title:
Palm Tree

Occasion:
Origins 2006

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Title:
The "Night" Forest

Occasion:
Origins 2006

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
The rare "Night" Forest is actually a misprint that we decided was cool enough to keep some of. But of course once these run out, they'll be gone for good. Read more about the summer of the Cursed Trees & Night Forests.

Title:
Andy Looney

Occasion:
2003 summer trade shows

Availability:
You can order un-autographed individual cards. The only way to get one of these autographed is to meet Andy Looney in person and ask him for his autograph.

Comments:
Andy got so many requests for autographs on a blank Keeper card that he decided to just make a Keeper of himself to give away to autograph seekers. But after four years of Andy handing out this card himself, we're letting collectors who really want one (and don't anticipate ever getting to see Andy in person) buy an un-autographed copy of this card.

In case you can't read the fine print, the way this works is that it counts as the Brain, but ONLY if it's been autographed by Andrew Looney. Andy will only autograph this card if you meet him in person. So don't ask (or try to bribe) him to give you his autograph in any other way! He's very strict about this rule!

Chrononauts

Title:
Jade Statue of Tirade

Occasion:
Origins 2001

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
We used to include these in the 2001 Promo Card Pack, but the pack has been discontinued. But Tirade was so popular, we added this card into Chrononauts during the 3rd printing! Tirade is our mascot. You can read more about the Jade Statue of Tirade, in Mysteries of the Timeline.

Title:
Beatles Reunion Album

Occasion:
Used to be included in Fluxx Blanxx

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
The idea here is, if John lives, he reunites with the other Fab 3 and they record an album in 1995. Of course, in that Timeline, it's just an ordinary CD. To make it valuable enough to work as a wildcard artifact, you must return to the Timeline in which John is dead and no one has ever heard this music.

Title:
German Cake

Occasion:
Dragon*Con 2002

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
We added this card into Chrononauts during the 3rd printing. All your questions about German Cake are answered in Mysteries of the Timeline.

Title:
The Really Fast Time Machine

Occasion:
Origins 2004

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
Gadgets are a new card type introduced in Early American Chrononauts. There'll you'll find 3 kinds of Time Machines, not including this one. You can also use this card in an original Chrononauts deck. (We added this card into Chrononauts during the 3rd printing.)

In case you can't read the fine print, the card says:

If you have this Gadget on the table, you may play an extra Inverter or Patch, and draw to replace it, after your normal turn action.

You may only use one Time Machine action per turn.

Title:

In case you can't read the fine print, the card says:

At any time during your normal turn, if you have this Artifact in play, you may (as an extra action) swap it with any Artifact or Gadget another player has on the table.

Nanofictionary

Title:
The GameMaster

Occasion:
Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine, Issue #80, 2003

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
As part of the production run of cards for NanoBlanks, we were also able to get a big pile of special promo cards printed up. We had this great idea for a character card called 'The GameMaster", and we struck a deal with Kenzer & Company to license the image of the ultimate GM, BA Felton himself.

Literature Cards

Title:
Micro-Catalog 2005

Occasion:
Holiday Gift 2005

Availability:
We mailed these out to everyone on our mailing list, along with a Tirade greeting card, as our Holiday Gift for 2005. Leftovers from that mailing are currently available from the Short Run Depot. You can also order individual cards.

Comments:
We updated our Micro-Catalog when we sent out the 2005 Holiday Promos. We also got a whole bunch of them on their own.

Title:
IceTowers reference card

Occasion:
ICE-7

Availability:
You can get one in ICE-7. You can also order individual cards.

Comments:
There are actually 2 very slightly different versions of this card. The first printing (not pictured) used a cross-hatch pattern instead of the gray scaled shading on the other-player's colored pieces in the diagram.

This card proved so useful that we made a whole bunch of others and turned 'em into the promo card packet called ICE-7.

Title:

Title:

You can order individual cards.

Comments:

Occasion:
Origins 2005

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

This is a very high-level reference card intended as a handout for those times when you're playing Homeworlds somewhere in public and someone comes up and asks what you're doing and you want a handy little card to give them that sums it all up.

Game Parts

Title:
Homeworlds Good/Evil Cards

Occasion:
2nd Printing of AYAW?

Availability:
You can order individual Good and Evil cards.

Comments:
John Cooper's Icehouse game called Homeworlds needs little equipment other than a classic Icehouse set. The main thing you also need is a set of markers that say either "Good" or "Evil". So, when we had 2 spare card slots on the production of Are You A Werewolf? we made these indicator cards. They have a nice binary star system on the back.

Title:
Zendo Blanks

Occasion:
Discontinuing our SASE Program in 2006

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
Looney Labs has been creating Promo Cards since 1997. But until 2006 there were limited ways you could get them, such as attending one of the conventions where they were being handed out, or sending in a Self Addresed Stamped Envelope (SASE) requesting one. In 2006 it was decided to discontinue the SASE program because we just couldn't keep up with the requests. Instead, we decided to make the cards individually available for sale on our web site. In addition to gathering up and organizing all the various Fluxx and Chrononauts promo cards lying around the office, we decided to also make several other cards available individually, such as the Zendo Blanks and the Fluxx Blanxx Singles.

Title:
Fluxx Blanxx Singles

Occasion:
Discontinuing our SASE Program in 2006

Availability:
You can order individual Action, Goal, Keeper, and New Rule cards.

Title:
I Have a Perfume Allergy

Occasion:
Kristin has a perfume allergy

Availability:
You can order individual cards.

Comments:
This is the all-new version of this card. (The first version didn't test well, but it led to this one.) Here's what it says:

I'm Sorry, But I Need To Keep My Distance

Please excuse my strange behavior. I suffer from severe allergic reactions to certain chemicals, particularly the artificial fragrances used in many perfumes, deodorants, laundry soaps, and so on. My disability often requires that I hastily depart from confined spaces. I love people, but sometimes I have to avoid them because of my chemical sensitivity. So if it seems like I'm trying to avoid you, please don't be offended. Thanks!

It also says "Please visit PerfumeAllergy.org" but so far, there's nothing there.

Title:
The EcoFluxx Pledge Card

Occasion:
EcoFluxx

Availability:
This card appears in EcoFluxx. However, some early copies of the game have a defective copy of this card, with an ad for the Fluxx Fan Club on the back instead of the pledge above. (Some copies of the game have both the corrected card and the incorrect original.) This card is available individually and in 25 packs, for promotional use and as replacements.

Comments:
The text on the back of this card was written by Luisa:

We Pledge Allegiance to the Earth

Our planet is finite. Our resources are limited. We as human beings have a conscience and free will. We have choices and are aware of our impact on nature and the world around us. We can choose to be compassionate, and care about other people (both present and future) as well as our environment. Or we can be selfish and greedy, only caring for ourselves. Every single thing we do in our daily life affects the health of the planet and the well- being of other people. When you play EcoFluxx, think about the choices you make and the interconnectedness of all things and share your insights with others. Let's choose to treat the Earth right! Spread the word! Looney Labs will donate a portion of the proceeds from EcoFluxx to environmental groups. For immediate actions you can take and for a list of recipient organizations, visit: LooneyLabs.com/ecofluxx-foundation/

Thanks for helping us make a better world!
